Correspondence.

[We do not in any way identify ourselves with the opinions of correspondents, J THE ARMED CONSTABULARY. TO THE EDITOR, OE THE HAWSE'S BAY TIMES. Sir, —Yesterday, I heard a story to the effect that the Armed Constabulary, or a portion of them at present stationed at what is popularly known as " the Front," may shortly be expected in Napier; and, further, that it is in contemplation to disband some of that body. Now, Sir, my object in penning this, is to ascertain, whether yon can give your readers any information as to the truth or otherwise of such rumor.—Yours, &c, A Settler. Napier, Decemcer 15, 1809. [We cannot give our correspondent any information on the subject.—Ed. H.B.T.]
