Sudden Death at Pekapeka.— Coroner's Inquest.— An inquest was held in a building in Hastingsstreet on Tuesday last, 7th inst., before T. Hitching*, Esq., Coronor, and a jury, on the body of Charles James Anderson, Esq., who was found lying dead near the river which flows in the neighborhood of his late residence at Pekapeka on the evening of Sunday last. It appears that deceased left his house on the day in question apparently in good health; but failing to return so soon as expected, he was sought for by his overseer, who discovered him lying as aforesaid, his arms folded, and apparently asleep. A post mortem examination was made of the remains of deceased, but no satisfactory cause of death could be discovered. The jury, therefore, returned an open verdict to the effect that deceased was found dead, cause unknown. Mr Anderson was a comparatively young man, being but 33 years of age, and was held in much esteem by all who knew him. We understand that he has left a widow and one child.
