f FROM OUE OWN CORRESPONDENT ] Nov. 22, 1869. The s.s. ‘Tararua,’ from Melbourne arrived at the Bluff at 10 4-5 a.m. today, bringing dates to the 17th inst. She has on board Mr Bed wood’s race horses Peeress and MisfortuneManuka lias been sold in Melbourne. The following is a summary of the news brought by the ‘Tararua’:— Melbourne, Nov. 17.
HiginborhamV resolutions, in v e . ference to the relations of the colonies to the mother country have been warmly discussed. The debate still continues.
The wreck of the ship ‘Victoria Tower’ has completely broken up. The s.s. ‘Rangatira’ steamed for Auckland on the 15th instant. Mr Walter Montgomery, the actor, was a passenger by her.
Manuka has been offered at auction, and 730 guineas bid by Saqui; be was bought in, as also Peeress at 400 guineas. The Land Enquiry Committee have published their report; it comments severely on Miller, and recommends the appointment of a Royal commission to investigate fresh charges against him.
Commercial.— Corn sucks wanted at 11s 6d; Hour, £ls 5s to £ls 10s; Adelaide wheat, 7s to 7s 2d.
