Arrival of the s.s. Star of the South. •The favorite stock steamer Star of the South, papt. W. Bendall, left Napier on Thursday, 14th inst., at 3 p.m.; rpunded Point Rodney at 9.30 a.m. next day,'and arrived at Auckland at 4 p.m. on Saturday, 16th instant, having experienced changeable weather and high confused sea on the passage. Left Auckland at 6.30 a.m. on Tuesday, 19th inst. Experienced fine weather throughout Hie passage, and arrived in the Iron Pofc at 7 a.m. pn Thursday, the 21st. From the East Cape to port had fresh head winds and heavy southerly •well. Captain Bendall reports a large ship, most probably the Red Rover, from London, going into Auckland harbor when the Star was leaving. The Star steamed for Auckland direct on Friday morning at 8 o'clock with 1050 sheep. Arrival of the s.s. Rangatira. TnE New Zealand Steam Navigation Company's s.s. Rangatira, Capt. Rentier, left Wellington at 7.45 p.m. on Wednesday, 20th inst.; experienced strong N.W. winds on the passage, and brought up in the roadstead at 1Q o'clock on Thursday pight. The next day discharged part of her large general cargo into the Greenwich, lighter; and entered the Iron Pot at 5 p.m. in order to discharge cargo and to ship live stock. The Rangatira steamed for Tauranga and Auckland at 6 p.m. on Saturday, with 10 head cattle, •200 sheep, 1 horse, 12 casks preserved meat, and sundries.

•Miscellaneous. The fine barque William Cargill, Gaptain Thompson, hence with wool, &c, on 2nd May, arrived at JGravesend on the 2nd August, having made the run home in the short space of 91 days. The schooner Kenilworth arrived at Auckland pn the 18th inst. with a cargo of cattle and horses from the Chatham Islands.
