In the Wellington—Mr Knowles PROJECTED DEPARTURES. For Auckland—Star of the South, s.s., this day Wellington via tee Coast—Esther, brigantine, about Saturday next Arrival of the s.s. Star of the South. SDhe favorite stock steamer- Star of the South, Captain W. Bendall, arrived in harbor on Tuesday morning from Auckland, with a general cargo and several passengers. She left Napier at 5 p.m. on Sunday, 3rd inst... and experienced light variable winds and fine weather to Auckland, arriving there at 6.40 p.m. on the sth. Left again at 10 p.m. pn Saturday, 9th; experienced fine weather, and arrived at Tauranga at 2.30 p.m. on the 10th. Embarked about 50 of the Armed Constabulary Force under Captain Coll .M'Donnell, and left Tauranga at 9 p.m. the same evening. Experienced strong northerly winds and heavy rain, with thick weather, until passing the East Cape, which was rounded at 9 a.m. on the 11th ; from thence to Poverty Bay, strong westerly winds and fine weather, arriving there at 8 o'clock the same iight. Landed Captain M'Donnell and the constabulary ; and left again at 9.30. p.m., arrivin? in she Iron Pot at 9 a\m. on Tuesday last, 12th October. The Star will steam for Auckland this, day at 1.30 p.m. with a cargo of sheep.

Arrival of the brigantine Esther. The brigantine Esther, Captain James Campbell, left "Wellington G. 30 a.m. on Friday, Bth instant; rounded Cape Palliser at midnight. At 10 p.m. on the 9th cama to an anchor at Castle Point; discharged 15 tons cargo, and left at 2 p.m. on the 10th ; arrived at Pourerere at 1 p.m. at 11th, discharged cargo, and left again at 4> p.m.; and arrived here at 11 a.m. on Tuesday last. Had fresh westerly winds and fine weather on the passage. The Esther was the bearer of a large general cargo, on discharge of which she will leave for "Wellington via the coast. We have to thanlf Captain Campbell for a copy pf the Wellington Independent, of the 7th instant, containing items by the last English mail, extracts from, which will be found elsewhere. Miscellaneous. Tub cutter Mahia, Hamilton, master, from Wairoa via Waihiki, Waikari, and JVlpeangiangi, with wool, tallow, maize, &c, and several passengers, arrived in port on Tuesday evening last. The Government surveying schooner Edith may be daily expected to arrive here from Wellington. She will be |he bearer of English papers by the August mail.

The ship plectra arrived at Wellington at 3 p.m. on Tuesday la#t, 12-th inst., after a fair passage of 95 days from London.
