AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. Reports for the week ending Friday, October 8. [MESSRS. CAREY AND GILLES.] The markets have been fairly supplied with fat cattle during the week, and those of superior quality met with free competition, selling at 40s to 43s $ 1001 b, medium cattle realising about 38s $ 100 ft. Eat sheep were penned in abundant numbers, and' sold at an advance of 2s to 2s 6d $ head upon late sales. Young cattle and store stock were numerous, but did not command the very high prices realised at late markets. Yeal calves and lambs sold at high value. On Wednesday, at the Junction Yards, we obtained the following prices:—Fat cattle, provincial, were sold at £ls 2s 6<l to £lB 12s 6d each, or 40s to 43s $ 1001 b ; fat cattle, Napier, realised £ll to £l3 17s 6d or 38s to 40s $ 1001 b. Fat sheep :—We sold a very large number as follows: ex Keera, from Wanganui, 14s to 21s each ; ex Star of the South, from Napier, 15s to 18s fid. Store sheep—Good Wanganui stores realised 10s tol3s 3d each. Store cattle —Full-grown steers £8 15s to £9 15s; calves, 25a to 43s each; lambs we quitted at lis to 14s 6d.
