The jury, after a consultation of 16 minutes, returned a verdict of GUILTY without a dis .sentient voice. Two of the prisoners —Hetariki and Rewi—declined to ?peak; but the other—Matene—made a long and ramblin : statement. Sentence of death was then pronounced according to the form usual in cases of high treason, viz., —to be hanged, drawn, and quartered. Eighteen of the prisoners from the hulk ' City of Newcastle' have been discharged from custody this afternoon, there not being any evidence against them. They are, however, supposed to be under the surveil lance of the loyal natives here. The deck of the s.s. 'Taranaki' is now above water. The pore holes are stopped up, and the process of pumping out commences to-morrow.
