At the meeting of the Wellington Institute on the 14th August, a paper on irri Ration as applied to tiie culture of New Zealand flax, by Mr J. C. Crawford, was lea d. The author pointed out the importance of irrigation to produce abundant ® r ops of flax plant, and described the dif‘wont methods of applying it. He indicted the sandy tracts on the West Coast oaost available.
