Arrival of the Star of the South. The s.s. Star of the South, Captain Bendall, left Auckland at 2 a.m. on Thursday, 19th inst. Experienced strong S.W. winds and squally weather, and arrived at J£awa JCawa at midnight of the parae day. Came to afl anchor, and signalled for the chief Manaina and his natives to come on board, which they did at daylight. At 7 a.m. on Friday the steamer proceeded on her voyage. On rounding the East Cape met a heavy souther, which compelled her to return to JCawa Kawa for shelter. The weather having moderated, she proceeded on her voyage at noon on Saturday, and apriyed in Aliuriri roads at 11.30 a.m. yesterday, entering the Iron Pot at 4 p,m.
