Z Herald, Aug. 7th, that "a person residing and carrying on business at i'ar nell, has been arrested on the charge ol seliing some of the arms and ammunition to Natives lately discovered in possession of the three Maoris remanded on a cliarge of illegally removing firearms and arumu nition from one place in the colony to an other." 'Alio Daily Southern Cross of the same date gives the name of the person as JSlathai.iel a watchmaker, and adds that ami* <md powder were found in his house.
