Government Advertisements. New Zealand Government Electric Telegraph. TENDERS are invited for the Supply and Delivery ol 250 Telegraph Poles, more or le-s, on the Tauoo-road, between Tupiirupuru (near Turanga Kuniu) and fctunanga (the commencement of the Kai ngaroa Plains.) The poles are to be sawn from heart of Totara, and are to be perfectly sound, -traight, free from loose knots, shakes, and sap. Anv poles containing the least sap will be rejected. The majority are required to be 20 feet long, 6 inches square at the top, and 8 inches square at the butt. A few inny be required of the following increased dimensions, viz: 20 feet long, 8 inches square at the top, and 12 inches square at the butt. 27 feet long, 8 inches square at the top, 12 inches square at the butt. The poles are to be delivered at the places which will be pointed out by the L'elegraph Surveyor along the present track to Taupo, following generally along lhe Waipunga Valley, via Turanga Kumu Tarawera, and Kunanga, (the latter the terminus.) Tenders are to contain price per pole a? per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £lO as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any competitor refuse to sign the contract in the event of his tender being accepted. Eaih tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties. Tenders to be endorsed, "Tenders for Supply and Delivery of Telegraph Poles on Taupo Koad, between Tupurupuru and Runanga," and addressed to E. 11. Bold, Ksquire, Telegraph Surveyor, Napier; to be sent in not later than noon on the 9th day of August, 1809.
