LENDERS are invited for the Supply and Delivery of 250 Telegraph Poles, more or less, on the Taupo-road, between Tupurupuru (near Turanga Kumu) and Rupanga (the commencement of the Kaiugaroa Plains.) The poles are to be sawn from heart of Totara, and are to be perfectly sound, straight, free from loose knots, shakes, and gap. Any poles containing the least sap will be rejected. The majority are required to be 20 feet long, 6 inches square at the top, and 8 inches square at the butt. A few may be required of the following increased dimensions, viz :

20 feet long, 8 inches square at the top, and 12 inched square at the butt. 27 feet long, 8 inches square at the top, 12 inches square at the butt. The poles are to be delivered at the places which will be pointed out by the Telegraph Surveyor along the present track to Taupo, following generally along the Waipunga Valley, via Turanga Kumu, Tarawera, and Runanga, (the latter the terminus.) Tenders are to contain price per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied by a deposit of £lO as a guarantee of good faith, which sum will be forfeited should any competitor refuse to sign the contract in the event of hit tender being accepted. Each tender must include the names of two sureties for approval, who are willing to become bond for the due performance of the contract, in the event of the tender being accepted, and must be accompanied by a notification to that effect, signed by the proposed sureties. Further information can be obtained on application to Mr Bold, Telegraph Sur reyor, Napier or Te Haroto. Tenders to be endorsed, "Tenders for Supply and Delivery of Telegraph Poles on Taupo Road, between Tupurupuru and Bunanga," and addressed to E. H. Bold, Esquire, Telegraph Surveyor, Napier ; to be sent in not later than noon on the 9th day of August, 1869. The time allowed for completion of the work will be eight weeks from the date of signing the contract. The lowest or any tender not necessarily accepted. By order of the Telegraph Commis■ioner. 0.
