CLEARED OUTWARDS. JUNE, 26 Hangatira, s.s., 174 tons, Eenner, for Auckland, with 65 bales wool, 18 casks 1 tank tallow, Kinross & Co.; 8 casks tallow, Neal & Close.—Kinross & Co,, agents. 26—Star of the South, s.s.. 161 tons, Bendall, for Auckland, with 65 head cattle, 400 sheep, order.—Watt Brothers, agents. Arrival of the Rangatira. The s.s. Rangatira, Capt. Rentier, left Wellington at 7 P-m. on Wednesday last, 23rd inst.; rounded Cape Palliser at midnight, and Cape Kidnapper at 5 p.m. on Thursday, and arrived in port at 7 p.m. Experienced fine weather throughout. Reports having sighted H.M.S.S. Blanche at daylight on Thursday, and was close behind her all the day. The Blanche is bound for the South Sea Islands. The Rangatira steamed for Auckland at 8 a.m. on Saturday last, with a cargo of wool, tallow, &c. She may be expected to return to Napier about Thursday next, and is announced to steam for Wellington and Southern Ports on Friday, 2nd July. Arrival of the Star of the South. The s.s. Star of the South, Capt. Bendall, left Auckland at 9 p.m. on Tuesday, 22nd inst. Experienced fine weather throuhout the passage, and arrived in the Iron Pot, Napier, at 7 a.m. on Friday, 25th inst. The Star called at Tologa Bay on the passage down to land stores; and at Poverty Bay to land the following passengers:— Archdeacon Williams, Misses Uren (2), and Messrs Rogan, Dickson, Monro, and Graham. She brought to Napier about 40 tons general cargo. The Star of the South, on Saturday and yesterday took on board 65 head of cattle and 400 sheep, and was ready for sea at 8 a.m. yesterday, hut in attempting to get out of the Iron Pot got stuck on the bank at the entrance. Another attempt to get out last evening also resulted in failure, and she may yet have to be lightened before she can get to sea. Arrival of the Wild Duck. The ketch Wild Buck, Captaiu Martin, from Auckland, with a general cargo transhipped ex Mary Shepherd from London, arrived here at midnight on Friday last. She left Auckland on the 16th inst., 5 p.m., with strong variable winds. Landed cargo and passengers in the Bay of Plenty and on the East Coast. Off Gable End Poreland she experienced the full force of the S.E. gale; which, on Saturday night and Sunday morning, 18th and 19th inst., proved so disastrous to at least two vessels. The Wild Duck had several of iier sails split during the gale; and on Sundcy bore up for Tologa Bay for shelter, arriving there at 3 p.m. She left again at noon on Wednesday last, with light southerly winds. Bounded Portland Island at 8 a.m. on Friday, and arrived here as above. Reports having sighted H.M.S.S. Blanche off Table Cape at 10 p.m. on Thursday last, standing to the northward.
Miscellaneous. The s.s. St. Kilda, Captain Fox, arrived in the roadstead at 10 p.m. on Friday last, from Wa'roa, and left again before daylight on Saturday morn* in S- . , . The s.s. Wellington may be expected here in a day or two, from Wellington and Southern Ports. The cutter Glimpse was loadin g for Napier at ; Wellington at our latest dates.
