Dismissal of Me E. W. Edwards, Official Assignee.—ln the Court of Bankruptcy, on Tuesday, 2nd March, Mr Commissioner Holroyd announced the dismissal of Mr Edwards from the office of official assignee, by order of the Lord Chancellor. The Lord Chancellor stated that he made the order with much pain, but Mr Edwards must have been well aware that the discharge of his duties as official assignee was inconsistent with the performance of duties elsewhere, to which, on his own showing,, he had devoted the greater portion of his time and energies, end which were considered barely recompensed by the payment of £SOOO a year. The correspondence betwixt Mr Edwards and Overend, Q-urney, and Co., the Lord Chancellor added, sufficiently indicated the flagrant consequences arising from the eon(mention of the order of the court.
