The s s. St. Kilda, which left for Wairoa on Friday last, (the lion. Mr Richmond being a passenger,) returned to port on Saturday night, bringing back Mr Richmond. She left for Mohaka and Wairoa yesterday afternoon. The St. Kilda may be expected back to-morrow, when she will embark the pontoons, &c, which are to be used on the Waikarimoana Lake.
The Thames.— Extraordinary Yield oe G-old. —The Thames Advertiser, Bth May, says: —The Long Drive yestarday crushed a parcel of 350 pounds of stone at the Kuranui Company's one-stamper, which yielded the splendid return of 1,201 ozs. of retorted gold. This was deposited in the Bank of New Zealand, Grahams town, and melted iuto ingots.
