At the latest dates (6 p.m., Tuesday) the Big pa remained in the hands of the friendly natives. The Hauhaus had retreated, after repulsing tbe Wairoa contingent under Ihaka Whanga. Te Kooti was reported killed, but this is not certain. . The bodies of two Europeans is said to have been found. The Lavins, Mr Cooper, and one or two others, ai e still mis-ing; Mr Sim and family have returned, after being absent amongst the hills four days, and it is hoped the others who are missing will yet come in. We anxiously await further news as to the exact extent of the mischief inflicted by the rebels, and the chances of biinging the wretches to account. On Wednesday all Towgood's and Tanner's Mounted men had arrived at Mohaka, and Colonel Lambert with Richardsons troop of Mounted Constabulary from the West Coast, together with other mounted men, would swell the available for«e to 180. Supplier of provisions and ammunition weie forwarded to Arapawanui by boa<", and to Mohaka on Monday night by the Hero, and on Tuesday night by the Grayling and Murewai. A party of natives who proceeded on Tuesday towards Mohaka have, we understand, all returned. They have arranged to watch the roads from Taupo by the Mohaka fords.
