The new clipper barque William Cargill, Captain Duncan, arrived in the roadstead about 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon, after a passage of 124 days from Plymouth. She left London on the 14th of October, but in consequence of heavy westerly winds in the English Channel, put into Portland on the 25th. She again put to sea, but was compelled to put into Plymouth on the Ist November. She left Plymouth on the 7th, and had light winds till past the meridian of the Cape of Good Hope. She crossed the equator on Saturday, 13th December, and reached the meridian of the Cape on the 14th January From thence she had moderate variable winds, varying from N.W. to S.W. She saw several vessels on the voyage, but did hot speak with any. She arrived at Port Chalmers on the 27th February, and left on the 2nd March. On Friday, the stb, she encountered a heavy gale from the N.W., which lasted several hours—the heaviest wind she met with duiiug the whole voyage, She brings a general cargo of merchandise for this port, particulars of which we regret being unable to publish this morning. The William Cargill is a new vessel, this being her first trip. She is handsomely fitted up, and is apparently well adapted for the trade for which she was built. The s.s. Wellington, Captain Holmes, arrived in port at 2*45 p.m. on Tuesday last, from Wellington and Southern Ports, with a full general cargo and several passengers. She steamed northwards at 2 p.m. yesterday. The s.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Worsp. arrived in harbor at 2 p.m. yesterday, from Wellington and Southern Ports. She did not bring any cargo for this port. The s.s. Ahuriri steamed for Wellington at 3 p.m. on Monday last, with 64 bales wool and sundry other cargo; she also took 4 passengers. The schooner Tawera sailed for Poverty Bay and Auckland last evening with a general cargo and several passengers. The brigantine Prince Patrick, Captain Andrews, coal laden, from Newcastle, for Napier, put into this port last evening, disabled. It appears that in coming through Cook's Straits, she encountered very heavy weather from the S.E., and when some miles off Wellington heads, she carried away the truss of her fore-yard, necessitating her putting in here.—New Zealand Advertiser, 3rd March. [The Prince Patrick left Wellington for Napier on the Ith insfc., and may, therefore, be hourly expected, j
