District Prize Firing.—The regulations for the prize firing for 1869 appear in the New Zealand Gazette of the 13th inst. The Northern Island is divided into eleven districts, and the three highest competitors in each receive £lO, £7, and £5, provided they do not score less than 35. The best shot in each district, if he scores 40 or upwards, will obtain the district medal. The ranges, are 400, 500, and 600 yards, and the highest possible score 60. The sum of £SOO is appropriated to prizes in the Northern Island, and the surplus will be divided proportionately among those who ha"\ e scored more than 25, winners of prizes included.
