The s.s. Wellington, Captain Holmes, left Auckland on Saturday last at 7.30 p.m., experienced strong head winds as far as the East Cape, which was rounded at 4 p.m. on Sunday. From thence' to port light winds and calms; dropped anchor in the roadstead at 6 a.in. on Monday, making the run in 34£ hours. The Wellington left Napier at 3 p.m same day, and arrived at Wellington at 10 30 a pi. on Tuesday. It will be seen that the voyage from Auckland to Wellington (including 9 hours detention at Napier) was performed in the short space of 61 houi-3. The s.s. Ahuriri, Capt. Elowerday, from Poverty Bay, arrived in port at 7.30 a.m. on Monday last, having on hoard 0 wounded men, besides about 120 of the Armed Constabulary Force, under Major Roberts. The wounded men having been landed, the Ahuriri steamed away on Monday afternoon, arrived at Wellington at 7.15 p.m. on Tuesday, and left for "Wanganui yesterday. The p.s. Sturt, Capt. Fairchild, arrived in port on Tuesday afternoon from Poverty Bay, with 140 of the Armed Constabulary Force under Colonel Whitmore. She left Napie? shortly afterwards, and arrived at Wellington at 6 p.m. yesterday. The ketch Eagle is loading wool for Wellington, and will probably leave port this evening. The s.s. Star of the South steamed for Auckland last evening, with a full cargo of sheep and a few passengers. The s.s. St. Kilda left Wellington for Napier yesterday. She may, therefore, be expected to arrive here this evening. The s.s Phoebe may be expected to arrive from Aucklaud on Sunday next 17th instant, and will steam southwards on the following day. The schooner Kauri left Auckland for Napier via the Great Barrier on the 7th inst.
