New Zealand Insurance Company.— The half-yearly general meeting of the above Company will be held in Auckland on Wednesday, 20th January, for the purpose of receiving the report and for the election of two directors.

The Siam eoe London. —The ship Siam, Captain Ashby, hauled off the Qneen-street wharf into the stream this morning, preparatory taking her departure for London on Monday next. The Siam takes away one of the largest cargoes that have been shipped from this port for Eng land, and it has one peculiarity about it, that it comerises almost every principle article of New Zealand produce. She takes a large shipment of kauri gum, which, with other produce, is approximately valued at £44,000. It addition to this she will take £68,000 worth of gold from the Thames, a fact that speaks volumes for the resources of our gold-field. The total value of the cargo is therefore |£112,000. Taking the gold into account, this is perhaps the most valuable cargo that has ever left the port of Auckland, Besides being full of cargo, the Siam is full of passengers, a list of whom will be found in our shipping oolumn.—-Evening; News, 6th January, j
