BE EARNEST. ofl-TAX, to earnest in thy calling; ©** and prosper—God will bless Thee, and keep thy feet from falling, He will giro thee thy success. Though thy way he dark and dreary, Comfort thee when thou art weary, With the promise of ids love. Tlrnon not then, nor ho. faint-hearted. If dark clouds should o’er thee lower; God will show the silver lining At the proper place and hour. Whatsoever work thou findest. Do it well, with all thy might; Only ask His guidance humbly—- " Teach me, Lord, to do aright.” Gird thy loins, and go to battle; Seek thy life’s great race to run So. that when thy day is ended. God may greet thee with “ Well done !" Life is hut a talent lent thee, Therefore spend it not in vain; While 'tis thine do thou improve it— Make it meet to yield again. Do not spend to day in dreaming, The dawning morrow may not come ; If it should ’tis one day onward— One step nearer to the tomb. Then be earnest in thy railing : Let thy path be what it may, God will make it clearer, brighter, Even unto perfect day. Eversiiall Wyne.
