ALL Persons having CLAIMS to COMPENSATION for losses occasioned by, and for special services in suppressin rebel natives, during tbe war on the East Coast, are required to send their claims to me on or before the 30th of JUNE inst., after which date no claims can be received. Each claim must contain a statement of the amount claimed, as well as other particulars ; must be distinctly made out in writing ; must show the immediate cause of the loss, or by whose order the special service was performed ; and must be accompanied by a list of the witnesses by whose evidence it is proposed to be supported. a. PURSUANT to a Proclamation issued under my hand, dated the 21et day of January, 1868. I, Donald M'Lean, Su perintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay,do hereby Proclaim and Notify that the land comprised in the Schedule hereunto annexed will be offered to be Leased by Public Auction, for a term of 14 years, at the Crown Lands Office, in Napier, on FRIDAY, the 3rd day of July next, at noon in the lots set forth in the schedule • hereunto annexed, and that the person who shall bid tbe highest for each lot shall become the lessee cf the same ; and I further notify, that the sums of money set against each lot shall represent the lowest rent which will be accepted for each lot. Block, containing about 5000 acres, more or less bounded towards the north by the Mohaka river and the Bangatawhao Block ; east by the top of the Kaweka Range, the western boundary of the Aburiri Block ; south by tha Ngaruroro river and the Pakihiroa stream; west by the foot of the Kaweka range to the source of the Mikino stream, and down that stream to its junction With the Mohaka river. The boundaries of the side towards the Kaweka begins at the Mangatutu, and runs towards the Makahu stream, thence to the Umu o Maukorohi Ngahine o patuaiwaho to Kurupa, to Tawaroa, the Karuwai, and thence to the Makino ; thence to the Mohaka, and, following the Mohaka, to the Mangatutu.
