PROVINCIAL COUNCIL ELECTION.
! THE POLLING. The polling took pl.ee as notified on Thursday last, and at 4 p.m. the Returning Officer announced the state of the poll to be as follows;—Ferard.j 75 ; Edwards, 48 ; and declared the former gentleman duly elected, Air Ferard then briefly returned thanks for the honor done him, and proposed three cheers for the Returning Officer, which were given. Afr Edwards also thanked those gentlemen who had given him their support, and after three hearty cheers in his honor the meeting separated.
