Srri’osED Desisucxiok of a Settler' a House by HiUnAUS.—We take the foliowing from the Hew Zealand Herald, of the [2sth April:—The master of the cutter [Betsy, which arrived in harbor yesterday from Napier via the East Coast, appears to be placed in a somewhat curious dilemma. Part of his cargo from Napier consisted of twenty packages of furniture, consigned to a settler at Awanui, but on arriving at that place Captain Trimmer found to his surprise that tne settlor's house had been burnt to the ground, and the owner and family had disappeared. The house stood by itself, and Captain Trimmer had no means of ascertaining on the spot what had become of the occupants. It has been surmised, however, that the Hauhaus will ba [found to have been at the bottom of th» 1 affair.
