The s.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Worsp, from Auckland, arrived in port on Monday afternoon, and steamed for Southern Ports on Tuesday. The s.s. Taranaki, Capt Francis, from Tauranga and Auckland, arrived in port at rt p.m. on Tuesday last; and led for Southern Ports on Wednesday, with the English Mail via Suez. The p.s. Cleopatra arrived in port on Tuesday afternoon from Wairoa. She will now bo laid up for a few days.
The cutter Agnes, Carl iss, master, from Poverty Bay. with a cargo of apples, onions, horses, &c., arrived here on Wednesday. She also brought down a few passengers. The s.s. Star of the South, hence, arrived at Auckland ou the oth inst., and was advertised to leave for Hokitika, via Napier, on Thursday (this day), 19th inst. The schooner Elizabeth and TTlvaria Cameron. Captain Cameron, is now alongside the wharf, and will take In a cargo of wool for Wellington, for which port she will leave about Saturday next, 21st inst.
The schooner Annie, D. Hamilton, master, will leave for Porangahau to-day with a full cargo of merchandise.
The s.s. Ahuriri, from Wellington, is due here this day, and will steam for Tauranga and Auckland to-morrow (Friday.) The schooner Swallow cleared at Auckland for this port via Mercury Bay, on the 14th inst., with lo doors and 15,000 feet sawn timber.
The schooner Coquette, which left this port for Auckland on the 4th inst., made a good run un of four days.
The clipper barque Empress, Captain Cooper, ar rived at Auckland from London on the 11th Inst. We observe that the Empress has a considerable quantity of cargo for this port. H.M.S.S. Falcon was spoke by the Lord Ashley early on Monday -morning. It was supposed that His Excellency the Governor was on board.
The schooner Bfeieor, Captain liorerock, arriTcd at Auckland on the Sth inst., with a cargo of grain from Lyttelton.
