PROCLAMATION, i : By his Honor Honald MvLean, Esquice, j Superintendent of the Province of j Hawke’s Bay, in the islands of New j Zealand. j VyHIK Rii AS by an Act of the General 1 Assembly, intituled “The Hawke’s jliuy Waste Laud Regulations Amendment j Act, 1865,” it is enacted that all waste j lands of the Crown iu the said Province not ; heretofore proclaimed as open for selection • or sale, shall, before being procliimed as open lor selection or sale, be classified as follows by the Commissioner of Crown Lands: | Class i shall comprise lands suitable for j ownships or for special settlement. Class 2 shall comprise lands suitable for agricultural settlement. Class 3 shall comprise laud suitable for pastoral purposes. And whereas there are no lands within the boundaries of the land described iu the Schedule hereunto annexed suitable for townships, or for special settlement, orfor agriculturalsettlements; and whereas by the said Act it is further enacted that all the lands comprised in Class 3 aforesaid shall be divided into blocks suitable for runs, and olfered for lease for terms of 14 years by public auction— Now, therefore, I, the said Donald iPLean, Superintendent of the Province jof Hawke’s Bay, do hereby notify and | proclaim that the land comprised in the | said First Schedule, hereunto annexed, I will bo oil’cred to bo leased by public auction lor a term of fourteen years, at the Crown Lands Office in Napier, on THURSDAY, the twenty-third day of April next, at noon, in the lots set forth in the Second Schedule, hereunto annexed, and that the person who shall bid the highest for each lot shall become the lessee of the same ; and I further notify that the sums of money set against each lot shall represent the lowest rent which will be accepted for each lot. I Description of Runs to be Leased. j All that parcel of land, containing about [ 9000 acres, more or less, of the Nuhaka j Block. The boundaries are as follow ; Towards the north by 39 0 parallel of i latitude, forming the northern boundary of the Province of Hawke’s Bay; towards the cast by natixa land, the Kapuawhara Block, and by that portion known by the name of Ihaka’s Reserve ; towards the south by the sea, and by the eastern portion of the Rural Section of Waihua ; and towards the west by the said sections and by the Nuhaka River. All that parcel of land in the Wairoa District, containing by admeasurement 5300 acres more or less. Boundaries : —Towards the north by Rural Section of Turiroa, Nos. 9, 10, 11, and 12 ; east, by Rural Section of Wairoa, Nos. 8,9, 10, 11, and 12; south, by Rural Section of Potutu, from Nos, 1 to 15 inclusive ; and west, by Crown land and Rural Section of Turiroa, Nos. 27, 33, aud 35. Also all that parcel of land, iu the district aforesaid, containing by admeasurement about 9000 acres, more or less. Boundaries : —Towards the north, by the boundary of the province, latitude 390 south ; towards the east, by Rural Sections of Turiroa, Nos. 22, 21, 26, 30, 31, 34, and 36, and by Crown land ; towards j the south, by Rural Sections Nos. 17 and ! 18, Waihua; towards the south-west and west, by the back line of the Rural Sections of the Waihua and the Waihua River. All that parcel of land, containing 1000 acres, more or less, known as the Moeangiangi Reserve. Boundaries :-Towards the north and south, by portion of the Moeangiangi Block; east by the sea; and west, by the road from Napier to the W airoa. Exclusive of a reserve, containing about 10 acres, near the mouth of the Moeangiangi River. All that pa'-col, known as the Mangaharuru Block, containing by admeasurement 7700 acres, more or less ; situated on the eastern slope of the Mangaharuru Range, bounded —north, by native land; east, by the Te-Awa te-Matea Stream, ine uuaweuß xjake, and Waipapa Stream; and towards the south by native Land. SCHEDULE No. 2. Schedule of Runs to be Leased by Auction at the Crown Lands Office, at Napier at noon on Thursday, 23rd of April 1868. Nuhaka Block. Upset price. Lot 1.—9000 acres £lB 15s V annum Wairoa District. Lot 2,—5300 acres £ll annum Lot 3.—9000 acres £lB 15s annum Moeangiangi Reserve.
