By Iris Honor Dona t.j> Af Esouire I Superintendent of tlie Province ofi Hawke’s Bay, in the Islands of New Zealand. \ J7"HEIIEAS by an Act of the General Y V Assembly, intituled “The Hawke's] Bay Waste Land Regulations Amendment! Act, 1865,” it is enacted that all waste lands ox tiie Crown in tile said Province not heretofore proclaimed as open fur selection or sale, shall, before being proclaimed as open for selection or sale, be classified as follows by the Commissioner of Crown Lands: Class 1 shall comprise lands suitable for townships or for special settlement. Class 2 shall comprise lands suitable for agricultural settlement. Class 3 shall comprise land suitable for pastoral purposes. And whereas there are no lauds within the boundaries of the land described in the Schedule hereunto annexed suitable for townships, or for special settlement, or for agricultural settlements; and whereas by the said Act it is further enacted that all the lands comprised in Class 3 aforesaid shall be divided into blocks suitable for runs, and offered for lease for terms of 14 years by public auction—■ Now, therefore, I, the said Donald M‘Lean, Superintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby notify and proclaim that the land comprised in the said First Schedule, hereunto annexed, will be offered to be leased by public auction for a terra of fourteen years, at the Crown Lands Office in Napier, on THURSDAY, the twenty-third day of April next, at noon, in the lots set forth in the Second Schedule, hereunto annexed, and that the person who shall bid the highest for each lot shall become the lessee of the same; and I further notify that the suras of money set against each lot shall represent the lowest rent which will be accepted for each lot. Dated this twenty-first day of January, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty.eight. DONALD M'LEAN, Superintendent. SCHEDULE No. 1. Description of Runs to be Leased. All that parcel of land, containing about 9000 acres, more or ic-s, of the Nuhaka Block. The boundaries arc as follow : Towards the north by 39 O parallel of latitude, forming tho northern boundary of the Province of Hawke’s Bay; towards the east by native land, the Kapuavvhara Block, and by that portion known by the name of Ih-.ka’s Reserve ; towards the south by the sea, anil bv ir the eastern portion of the dural Section of Waihua ; and towards the west bv the said sections and by tho Nuhaka River. All that parcel of land in the Wairoa District, containing by admeasurement 5300 acres more or It ss. Boundaries ; —Towards the north by Rural Section of Turiroa, Nos. 9, 10, 11, and 12 ; east, by Rural Section of Wairoa, Nos. 8,9, 10, 11, and 12 ; south, by Rural Section of Potutu, from Nos. 1 to 15 inclusive ; and west, by Crown land and Rural Section of Turiroa, Nos. 27, 33, and 35. Also all that parcel of land, iu the district aforesaid, containing by admeasurement about 9000 acres, more or less. Boundaries : —Towards the north, by the boundary of tho province, latitude 39'0 south ; towards the east, by Rural Sections of Turiroa, Nos. 22, 24, 26, 30, 31, 34, and 36, and by Crown laud ; towards the south, by Rural Sections Nos. 17 and 13, Waihua; towards the south-west and west, by the back line of the Rural Sections of tho Waihua and the Waihua River. All that parcel of land, containing 1000 3 acres, more or less, known as tho Moeangiangißeserve. Boundaries :-Towards the north and south, by portion of the 1 Mocangiangi Block; east by the sea; and > west, by the road from Napier to the Wairoa. Exclusive of a reserve, con- ? taining about 10 acres, near the mouth of the Moeangiaugi River, j, All that parcel, known as tho Manga- ‘ haruru Block, containing by admeasurement 7760 acres, more or less; situated 2 on the eastern slope of the Mangaharuru ; Range, bounded —north, by native land; east, by the Te-Awa te-Matea Stream, r the Opawehe Lake, and Waipapa > Stream; and towards the south by native Land. 3 SCHEDULE No. 2.
