RAILWAY ACCIDENT IN SYDNEY.
COLLISION OF TRAINS AND LOSS OF LIFE. From Sydney we learn that a collision took place at the Newtown Railway Station on the morning of the 6th ult. One man named Falconer lost his life, and several persons were very seriously injured. A coroner’s inquest was held, which lasted two days. The jury, after an absence of about four hours, returned a verdict of manslaughter against a station master and an engine driver, who were accordingly committed for trial.
