Wb take the following from the Heins News:—“A new contract has been made with the Peninsular end Oriental Steam Packet Company for an extended mail sendee to India and China. The service to Calcutta, instead of being four times a month, is to be every week, so that there will bo 52 instead of 48 services in the year. The Bombay fortnightly service it to be converted into a weekly one, so that there will be 52 instead of 24 services, and an additional service to China. There is to be one additional service in the - year to Australia —we are ashamed to make men* tion of so insignificant a boon."
