A leak has been discovered in the embankment of the Dunedin waterworks, but it is not considered to be serious. The Southern Cross, Dec. 30, says:— H-M.s. Challenger and Falcon leave this harbor to-day, the former on a cruise ofi’ the Lawau and the latter for Wellington and Sydney. The Falcon is under orders for England on the arrival of relief, but we believe she will return to this station before taking her final departure.
