She left Poverty Bayou Thursday at noon, and cxperienci d light northerly winds down, with beautiful weather. The p.s. Cleopatra steamed for \\ airua and Poverty Bay on Tuesday last, at 10 a.m., with a fell cargo and a 1 number of passengers. Arrived at Wairoa at 3.30 p.m. Lett for Poverty Bay at 5 a.m, on Wednesday, called in at Waugawehi to land 1 assengers, and arrived in the Big River at 3’3 1 pm.; left thereat 4a.m. on Thursday forTuranganui,—leaving on her return trip at ti p.m. Ari ived at Wairoa at 3.30 a.m. on Friday. Left for Napier at 8 a.m on Saturday, and brought up alongside Messrs. Watt's wharf at 12’30 p.m. Had beautiful weather throughout the trip. The Panama Company's steamship Egmont. Captain A. VV. Jack, left Auckland at 8 p.m. on Thursday, having been detaineda few hours by the Uon. the Commissioner of Customs. Arrived at I'aurauga at noon on Friday; left for Napier at 3.30 p.m., and brought up in the roadstead at 9 p.m. on {Saturday,—having experienced light winds and smooth water throughout the passage. Wo have to thank Mr Purser Pringle for receipt of our usual parcels of papers from Auckland. The Egmonl steamed southwards at cue p.m. yesterday, Willi the English mails via Suez and Marseilles. ■ The brigantine Sea Gull, Captain Haddock, from Newcastle, arrived iu port yesterday morning, after a passage of 18 days. She brings a cargo of coal, consigned to Walt Brothers, which will doubtle.s ■■ meet with ready sale, as the supply on hand was getting very small.

The clipper ship Echunga, -Captain Jas. Knight, arrived in port yesterday forenoon, and took up her berth near the barque John Banyan, she left Port Chalmers on tue ;th Inst. As soon as the discharge of her inward cargo is completed, the Echunga will load wool for England, and as her homo freight is encaged, she will have quick despatch. The schooner Annie, Hamilton, master, arrived In port on Saturday afternoon, from Mohaka, with a cargo of settlers’ produce.

The schooner Hero sailed for tVairoa, with cargo of sundries, on Thursday night. The brig Maggie, Captain Howie, which sailed hence on the 7th November, arrived at ’Newcastle on the 25th. She may be daily expected back with a cargo of coals. 'lhe cutter Betsy, and schooners Onward and Sancy bass, hence, had all arrived at Auckland. The Betsy was again on the berth for Napier. The p.s. Cleopatra leaves for Wairoa at 1 o'clock to-morrow (Tuesday) afternoon. Intending passengers should make it a point to be ip lime, as the Cleopatra is famous for starting at her advertised hour—a very proper system too. The steamship Wellington is due hepe from the South on Wednesday next, and will steam for Taurauga and Auckland on Thursday.
