THE BRIDGES ON THE EASTERN SPIT.

Sill, —/ would seed through the medium of your columns- io cull the attention of the local nu.lhorilies to the stale of the bridges on the Eastern Spit, — mure especially the one near the old boat shed. It is some feet narrower than the road (itself not wide enough), and there is iwi the slightest protection at the sides. Why does not the Provincial Engineer see to i},is? I observe that fresh metal is being laid on the road to the Spit, which is a very necessary work, but not mure so than muling the bridges safe to cross. It is u die time for some one to see info these matters. 1 suppose I shut! be met with j the plea of economy,—the saute old sung that the Hum e . sent hare no money to spare for this worl. But is Hfe and property io be endangered for the sahe of saving afeto paltry pounds ?
