DISTRICT COURT.
(Before His Honor C. D. E. Ward, District Judge, and a Jury.) FRIDAY, 4th OCTOBER. L ARGENT, James Taylor (a well-known character), was charged with having stolen from a whare, a red blanket, a book called “ Sam Slick in Texas,” and sundry other articles, the property of Joseph Warden Browne. He was found guilty, and, taking into consideration the fact that he had been already 118 days iu prison, during which time his conduct had been good, his Honor sentenced him to nine mouths’imprisonment, with hard labour. Mr Lee for the defence. Civil Sittings. (Before His Honor the District Judge.) STUART &. CO. V. TATUM. Mr Wilson fur the plaintiff; Mr Cuff for the defendant. This was a disputed claim, extending over a considerable time, of £2oo. Judgment for amount claimed, with costs, £l2 9s. GRAHAM V. KAUAUKIA PUPU. Mr Cuff fur plaintiff. This was a claim of £ll2 ss. for ploughing and other work done. Judgment for plaintiff with costs, 17s. fid. 'Hid Court rose at half-past 1 p.m.
