Medicines. EW MEDICINES, THE GREATEST SUCCESS OF THE AGE. Unlike the Patent Medicines generally imported from the United Kingdom, the following from France have been severely tested and scrutinized by the most emiutjni Government and private analytical and operative Chemists and practising ■ Phvsicians of Paris. Ae., insomuch that the 1 c;i! ire Parisian Medical Faculty,—attached jto the Government and other Hospitals, Ac., in the French dominions can, after rigorous trials, with the fullest confidence, recommend them to the avorable notice of all languishing, not only under ordinary discuses, but those who may bo “ hoping gainst hope.” No more Cod Litee Oil. — Syrup of lodized Horseradish , prepared by Geijiault&Co., Chemists, Paris. —According to the certificates of the physicians of the Paris Hospitals detailed in the prospectus, and with the approbatmn of several Academies, this Syrup is employed with the greatest success in place of Cod Liver Oil, to which it is really superior. It cures diseases of the chest scrofula, lymphatic disorders, green s'ckness, muscular atony, and loss of appetite, it regenerates the constitution by purifying the blood, and is, in a word, the most powerful depurative known. It never fatigues the stomach and bowels like the lodide of Iron and the lodide of Potassium, and is administered with the greatest efficacy to young children subject to humors, or obstruction of the glands. Dr Catenate oi St Louis Hospital, Paris, recommends it I particularly in cutaneous diseases, cou !jointly with the pills that bear his name, i Diseases of the Chest.— Syrup of Hypophosphite of Lime, manufactured by Geimault A Co., Chemists. Ibis new medicine, delicious to the palate, is a sovereign remedy for coughs, colds, irritation of the lungs, and is also an excellent remedy in cases of consumption. Under its influence, the cough abates, nocturnal perspirations cease, and the patient rapidly recovers health and llesh. Indigestion or Dvspepsia.— Elixir of Pepsiue, prepared by Ghimaukt A Co., Chemists. Pepsine is the gastric juice itself, or rather the digestive principle purified, which digests food in the stomach, j When from various causes the supply oi The digestive'■'fluid is too small, the inevitable consequences are bad digestion, gastrhis, gastralgia, inflammaCou of the mucous coats of the stomach aiid bowels, bean burn, anosmia, loss of strength, and iu females general derangement. The Elixir of Pepsine, which is sanctioned by the approbation of the Paris Academy of Medicine, speedily cures all such diseases, and prevents vomiting during preg nancy.
iNo moke Poverty of the Blood, &c. —Phosphate of Iron. —De Leras, Apothecary, Doctor of Science. —This now ferruginous medicine contains the elements ol the bones and blood, and iron in a liquid slate. From observations made in the I’aris Hospitals and detailed in the prospectus, it is superior to ferruginous pills, lactate of iron, iron reduced by hydrogen, pills and syrup of the iodide of iron, and cures rapiulj stomach complaints, painful digestion, poverty of the blood, loss ol strength and appetite, and the diseases incident to females. It is the best adjunct to Cod-lner Oil, and the best preserver ol health in tropical climates. j\o more Cora Iba or Ccbehs.— Capsules of Matico I egelalis ; also Liquid Lxlracl of Jlalico. —These elegant preparations eil'ect rapid and extraordinary cures of decent and old, and severe eases of disease, i ilicy are used in all the Hospitals of Pans [ by the celebrated Ur Kicord, and are found |greatly superior to all preparations ol j Copaiba, Cubebs, Ac., and Mineral Kernejdies.
