It never fatigues the stomach and bowels like the lodide oi iron and the lodide of Potassium, and is administered with the greatest eillcacy to young children subject to humors, or obstruction of the glands. Depsine is iiie gastric juice itseit, or rather the digestive principle purified, which digests food in the stomach. When from various causes the supply oi the digestive lluid is too small, the inevitable consequences arc bad digestion, gastritis, gastralgia, inflammation of the mucous coats of the stomach and bowels, heartburn, anosmia, loss of strength, and in females general derangement.
