Electoral —Two seats aro now vacant in the Provincial Council, both for Hie iown of Napier. The nomination for one, in lieu of Donald 11‘Lean Esq., whoso seal ha? been vacated by Ids acceptance of the Oiilec of tsiipenutendent, will take place on A'edncsday next, 12th inst., and the poll (;f necessary) on the following day. The nomination for the other, in lieu of T. E. Newton, Esq., resigned, will take place on Ihursday, 20tti inst., and the poll (if necessary) on the following day. Volunteer Parade.—A special parade of tlio Napier Rifle Volunteers will take 'place on Saturday nest, loth instant, at a quarter past 4 p.m., on which occasion the winner of the Annual Provincial Rifle firing will bo presented by Lieilt.-Colonel '•Vhitmora with the Prize Medal. We hope to sec 3 good attendance. Accident. —Vcsterday, a boy named Will'Ll u Hill was thrown violently from a horse which ho was riding up Slmkespcnreroad, and sustained some slight injuries lie was thrown right over the horse’s head, and fell with great force upon the left side of his face, which presented a ghastly picture. Dad ho fallen upon his head, or had the horse kicked him, the result might hav been even worse.
