rp O CONTBAOTOBS. The Telegraph Commissioner is prepared io receive Tenders for the Supply and Delivery of 2,4,50 Poles, more or less, for a Hue of telegraph to be constructed between ■Castle Point, in the Province of Wellington, and Napier, in the Province ot Hawke's Bay. I The poles to be sawn from the heart of Totara, Matai, real Blue Gtum, or Stringy Bark. The poles to be of thefollowinglengths— A few forty feet long, twenty-four inches square at the butt, and eight inches square at the top ; to be charred for a length of twelve feet. A few thirty-five feet long, eighteen inches square at the butt, and eight inches square at the top. These poles to be charred for a length of nine feet from the butt. The major portion to be twenty-five feet long, eight inches square at the butt, and six inches square at the top. These poles to be charred for a length cf six feet from the butt. No pole to be charred till it has been cut for thirty clear days. The poles to be sound, straight, free from sap, and shakes. N.8.~N0 poles will be accepted that contain the least sap. The poles to be delivered at distances of about fonr chains apart along the road from Castle Point to Wahnata, Porangahau, Wallingford, Wapukurau, Waipawa, Ifaikora, Te Ante, and Havelock to Napier. Separate tenders must be made tor the portions of the line between Castle Point and Porangahau, and between Porangahau and Napier, and must state a price for each description of timber. Tenders are to specify a price per pole as per sizes given. Each tender must be accompanied with a deposit of £25, as a guarantee of good faith, which sura will bo forfeited should any tenderer refuse to sign the contract in the event of Ins tender being accepted. The usual sureties will be required of the accepted tenderer. Specifications can be seen and further particulars obtained at the office of the j Telegraph Engineer, Telegraph offices, Wellington, or at the office of the Provincial Engineer, Napier. Tenders addressed, “ The Telegraph Engineer, Wellington,” and endorsed, “Tender for telegraph poles between Castle Point and Napier,” to bo sent in not later than the 20th day of June next. ROCLAM A T I O N. By Joseph Rhodes, Esq., DeputySuperintendent of the Province of Hawke’s Hay, iu the Islands ol New Zealand. I, JOSEPH RHODES, Deputy-Superin-iof the Province of Hawke’s Bay, do hereby proclaim that a sale of Crown Lands will lake place at the Crown Lands Oillce, Napier, on Wednesday, 26th June, 1867, at noon precisely, when the allotments of land specified in the Schedule hereunto annexed, except such as may be reserved under the provision herinufter mentioned, and which hare been duly certified by the Commissioner of Crown Lands on the application of intending purchasers as being unavailable for agricultural purposes, will be put up to public auction at the npset price of ss. per acre, in accordance with the Land Regulations of the 4th March, 1853, and the additional Regulations for the amendment and extension of the said Regulations recommended by theSupermtcndent and the Council for the Province of Wellington (Session 2) to the Governor. If at any time during the sale it may appear to the Commissioner of Grown Lands beneficial or expedient for the public service to reserve from sale either of the sections specified in the said Schedule, or to vary the order in which they are to be put up, he is hereby authorised to do so.
