Unlike the Patent Medicines generally imported from tlie United Kingdom, tlie following from France have been severely tested and scrutinized by the most eminent Government and private analytical and operative Chemists and practising | Physicians of Paris, Ac., insomuch that the entire Parisian Medical Faculty,—attached Ito the Government and other Hospitals, Ac., in the French, dominions can, after : rigorous trials, with the fullest confidence, recommend them to the avorable notice I of all languishing, not Only undr-r ordinary I 'diseases, but those who may be “hoping against hope.” No sioiiE Cod Liveb Oil.—Syrup oj lodized Horseradish, prepared by GbimagltACo., Chemists, Paris.—According to the certificates of the physicians of the Paris Hospitals detailed in the prospectus, and with the approbation of several Academics, this Syrup is employed with the greatest success in place of Cod Liver Oil, to which it is really superior. It cures diseases of the chest scrofula, lymphatic disorders, green sickness, muscular atony, and loss of appetite, it reger.e rates ths constitution by purifying the blood, and is, in a word, the most powerful depurative known. It never fatigues the stomach and bowels like the lodide of iron and the lodide of Potassium, and is administered with tho greatest efficacy to young children subject to humors, or obstruction of the glands. Dr Catenate oi St Louis Hospital, Paris, recommends it particularly in cutaneous diseases, con jointly with the pills that bear his name. Diseases oe the Chest.— Syrup of Rypophosyhite of Li me, manufactured by Guiaiaulx & Co., Chemists. This new medicine, delicious to the palate, is a sovereign remedy for coughs, colds, irritation of the lungs, and is also an excellent remedy in cases of consumption. Under its inllueuce, the cough abates, nocturnal
perspirations cease, and the patient rapidly recovers health and llesh. Indigestion ok Dyspepsia. — Elixir of Pepsine, prepared by GuiiiAUKX <S: Co., Chemists. Pepsi* Eis the gastric juice itself, or rather the digestive principle punlied, which digests food in the stomach. Alien from various causes the supply of the digestive iluid is too small, the inevitable consequences are bad digestion, gastritis, gastraigia, inflammation of the mucous coats of the stomach and bowels, Heartburn, anaemia, loss of strength, and in females general derangement. 'i’lie iili.xir of Pepsine, which is sanctioned oy the approbation of the Paris Academy of Medicine, speedily cures all such diseases, aud prevents vomiting during preg uauey. A'o Moms Poverty of the Blood, &c. — Phosphate of Iron. —Do Leras, Apothecary, Doctor of Science. —Ibis new ferruginous medicine contains the elements ol Uio bones aud biood, and iron in a liquid slate. Prom observations made in the Paris Hospitals and detailed in the prospectus, it is superior to ferruginous pills, lactate of iron, iron reduced by hydrogen, pills and syrup of the iodide of iron, and cures rapidly stomach complaints, paiufui digestion, poverty of the blood, loss ol strength and appetite, and the diseases incident to females. It is the best adjunct to Cod-liver Oil, and the best preserver 01 health in tropical climates.
