Is pursuance of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled “ The Provincial Elections Act, 1858,” I, John Curling, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of tho Town of Napier, do hereby give notice that by virtue of a writ bearing date the 3rd day of June, IS-37, issued under the hand of His Honor the Superintendent, an election will take place of one qualified person to serve as a member of the Provincial Council of the Province of Hawke’s Bay for tho said Electoral District, in lieu of Thomas Kennedy Newton, Esq., resigned; and that tho nomination of candidates will take place at the ‘Resident Magistrate’s Court, Napier, on Thursday, the £Oth day of June, ISG7, at noon, and that the poll (if necessary) will be taken on Lriday, tho 21st June, isJ7, and that I will declare the poll at the close thereof.
