Had fine v,v;uh -r up the coast, and a-rived in the roadstead at a late hour on the night of Monday, 29th ult., alter a fair run of 31 clays. Mahia. —The cutter Mahia, TV. Baxter, nir'tor, which left Xapier on the 25th ult. with a lull general cargo for TValkari and TVairoa, returned to port ou Tuesday morning last. On arriving o;f Waikari found too much sea on to attempt lauding Cargo. Accordingly ran for TVairoa, and arrived pff the mouth of that river about twenty minutes too late for the tide. The sea off TVairoa at that time was comparatively smooth, but as the wind was blowing strong from the southward, which would very soon cause a heavy surf, Capt. Baxter, in preference to seeking shelter under Long Point, determined to hear up for this port, which he did, the vessel having to beat every inch of the way up the Bay—in which sort of work the Mahia excels. We understand the Mahia will put to sea again today—"’e hope with a more successful result.

Reports hat ing sighted 11. M.S.S. Brisk offTovortv Bay, bound north.. The Wellington, with the r.nglish mail via Panama, steamed southwards at 7 o’clock last evening.
