AUCKLAND. LIVE STOCK MAKKET. HR ALFRED BUCK LAND'S WEEKLY KEPOET. April 12. At the Haymarket, on Saturday last, there was the usual supply of fodder, but with au iucreased demand, aud prices were higher; best hay bringing 5s the cwt. freely, aud other qualities in proportion. Oats brought from 3s 6d to 4s ; bran. Is the bushel. At Newmarket, on Thursday last, fat cattle were otfered in increased numbers, aud prices were easier than the week previous. Store cattle were also lower in price. No good dairy stock offering; medium quality sold freely. The sheep market was very full, prices for fat merinos were lower 2s per head. For store sheep better rates were obtained than ruled last week. Growing and store pigs were very low in price ; for fat pigs there was a steady demand at late rates. MESSES HUNTER & CO.’S WEEKLY KEPOET. April 12. IVo have to report that at our yards on Monday, fat cattle were in fair supply, and prices were considerably up; grown store cattle were low iu price. Calves are selling very high. Dairy cows were scarce in the market, and the demand is good for this class of stock. The Sheep Market.—X'riocs were about tho same as hist quotations, Otahuhu Sale.—There was a fair market of store cattle and dairy cows on Tuesday, and prices good. Heifers brought £7 5s to i-7 10s; steers, £9. Horse Market.—On Saturday, horses were plentiful in the market, aud bidding was good for useful animals.
