REPORTS.

Sturt. —-The Colonial Government gun-boat Sturt, Captain Fairchild, arrived here at 0 o’clock on Monday morning, from Tauranga, Opotiki, and Poverty Bay. She left the latter place at 3 p.m. on Sunday; experienced heavy southerly swell down the coast, and arrived here as above—entering the Iron Pot about noon. Passengers—Hon. J. C. Richmond, Esq., S. Locke, Esq. Emerald. —The ketch Emerald, Capt, 'Whitby, from Canterbury, with a large cargo of outs and flour, arrived in port on Sunday evening last, after a good run of 3J days, She left Lyttelton at midnight of Wednesday, April 10 ; experienced light favorable breezes as far as Capo Palliser, when the wind chopped round to the northward, blowing hard, witii murky sky. This continued for 3d hours, during which time the Emerald made but little progress. However, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, 13th inst., —weather still remaining thick, —a strong southerly wind sprang up, which quickly brought the little vessel to her destination—anchoring in the roadstead at 5 p.m. on Sunday, 14th inst., entering the Iron Pot the next morning. We have to acknowledge the receipt, through the courtesy of Captain Whitby, of Canterbury files to the lOtli inst.

Lord 'Asulev (s.) —The Panama Company's g.s. Lord Ashley, Captain Worsp, arrived in port at 12-30 a.m. on Tuesday last, having been detained in Auckland for 21 hours by the Government, in anticipation of the arrival, at the Manukau, of the s.s. Phccbe, which it was supposed would have the long over-due Panama mail on hoard. She had not, however, arrived when she Ashley left. Blue Bell. —The schooner Blue Bell, Captain G. Loverock, left Lyttelton on Saturday, April 13, bound for Auckland with a cargo of wheat. Had

a very good itn up as far as Cape Turnagmn, off which she was on Tuesday night last. During the night,—partly owing to the strong northerly wind, but more to a nasty southerly sea, which caused the vessel to labor heavily,—carried away the main rigging. Captain Loverock, therefore, deemed it advisable to bear up for Napier, in order to repair damages. Accordumlv, stood in for Napier, coming to an anchor at daylight yesterday morning. Yesterday, the vessel was again ready to battle with the elements, but a north-easterly breeze prevailing, her departure has been postponed. She will probably put to sea to-day. Star op the South (s.) —This steamer left Napier tor Tologa Bay on the afternoon of Sunday, April 15, with about 11-00 sheep and one passenger. She returned to port on Tuesday last, m ballast; ana will, we understand, leave for Auckland at noon to-day,
