Rifle Prize Fiuixu. —The competitors of the outlying districts op Hawke's Bay met at Waipukurau on Wednesday, according to advertisement, hut the weather was even more unfavourable than that experienced by the Napier party, it blowing a gale the whole day. Only six made a score af 20 and upwards, these were, Vv iCuerow, 32 ; Buchanan, jam, 25 ; Msddlias, 23 ; Hollis, 21 ; Weston, 21 ; Chapman, 20. The Buama. — Mr. Seymour took a benefit on Friday evening last, but the attendance was not so good as might have been expected. To-night, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Poole take their farewell benefit, when we hope to see ; a bumper house. The Elections. The Waimarama Election, held on Monday last, resulted iu the return of the late member, Jas. Weston, Esq., without opposition ; that for Mobaka was to have taken place on Wednesday last, but th§ result has not yet reached us.
