Warlike Preparations by Russia. —A letter from Warsaw, in the Augsburg Gazette, says : —Matters assume, every day a mere threatening aspect in this country, and the military movements which follow uninterruptedly indicate that in Russia certsin eventualities are believed in. For ten days there have been incessant arrivals at Warsaw, from the interior of Russia, of trains filled witli troops, who, after a short rest, took the direction of the Gaiican frontier. A considerable portion of the :, r avrison at Warsaw hes also been sent to tlirt quarter. The Governor of Poland and three eminent encrals have been called to St. Petersburg, a fact which concert; w]?h the state of affairs in t-iallicia. Under the pretext that the Poles are in n condition of great excitement, and that they are dreaming of the speedy re-estah-lishmcr.t of their country, the Russian Government i* urging forward the work of I Russification, and favoring as much as ' possible conversion to the orthodox rites.”
