Benner, arrived here at 6 p.m. on the 31st ult. She left Auckland at 9'45 p.m. on the 29th, and arrived at Tauranga at 10-30 a.m. on the 30th. Left same day at 4-30 p.m., and arrived here as above. General Chute and Stuff were passengers by tier from Auckland to Tauranga. The Wellington stemmed for Southern Ports on Friday afternoon last, with tiie Panama mail. Tiie schooner Tawera, Captain Baker, left Poverty Bay at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, 29th ult.; had fine weal her throughout, and arrived here at 1 p.m. on Thursday last. The Tawera sailed again for Poverty Bay on Saturday last, with a cargo of fheep. The Panza Company’s s.s. Phoebe, Captain E. Wheeler, arrived here at 7 p.m, on Saturday last, from Wellington, with the English Mail via Panama. She steamed northwards at 11 a.m. yesterday. The cutter Agnes, Trimmer, from Poverty Bay; the cutter Dolphin, Schon, from Blackhead; aiid the cutter Eagle, Monroe, from Wangapoa, all arrived in port yesterday. The former vessel, as will he seen by advertisement, will leave for Tufanga and Turanganui to-morrow. The s.s. Star of tiie South, Captain Bendall, arrived in the roadstead at 10 o’clock last night, and (filtered the Iron Pot at 6 o’clock this morning. She left Lyttelton on the 3rd inst., at 7 p.m.; met With bead winds off Cook’s Straits, and ran short of cpaL Pnt in to Wellington harbor on the Ist j-st. at S'SO p.m., to coal ; and left for this port On Saturday, arriving here as above. On her way (o Wellington, the Star of the South passed the schooner Canterbury, with a cargo of telegraph wire for that port; also, a full-rigged ship bound SPntb.
The schooner Bine Bell, Captain Laverock, left for Tau-anga at 8 p.m, on Friday last, Ist instant, With 28 head of cattle.
The cutter Mahia, Captain Baxter, from Porangahaa with a cargo of wool, arrived here on Friday evening last. The brig Maggie, Captain Le Content, hence the 24th November, arrived at Mewcastle. N.S.W.. the Jlth January, after a frightfully rough ppsasge. It vrili he remembered that she had to fist in to Wellington on the loth December, short it into.
Tim clipper schooner Pruuess Alexandra, we observe, is advertised in the Sydney papers for Napier direct—to have quick despatch. The Panza Company’s s.s. Ruahine, T. S. B-nlc, Esq., commander, arrived ut Wellington at 4 p.m. on the 27th ult., having left Panama at I a.m. on the 28th December. The s.s. Beautiful Star, Captain Monvick, arrived at Sydney on the 17th January, after a good run of 6! days from Auckland.
