THE NORTH.
By the arrival of the Star of the Evening, Captain Turner, from Auckland, at 9 - 30 on Friday night last, we have received Auckland papers up to Wednesday last. The most important news to hand by this opportunity is intelligence of a threatened outbreak at Tauranga, which is published in the Auckland papers of the 22nd instant, copied from “extras” of the Tauranga Argus. The New Zealand Herald of the 23rd contains a refutation of at least a portion of the alarming news. Full extracts will be found elsewhere.
