I'rtE Panama Company’s steamship Lord Ashley, Haplain A. Kennedy, arrived here at 0 o'clock on Tuesday morning last, from Tanranga ami Auckland. bhe left for Southern Provinces t!ie same ■veiling, nith the English Mail via Suez.
The s.s. Star of the Evening, Captain Turner, ir rived from Auckland early ou Tuesday morning last, with a full general cargo, 25 prize sheep, 10 horses, and 5 horses. We understand that she ■.vill leave for Auckland again with sheep during ‘lie t curse of the day. The ketch Taraipinc, Lewis, master, sailed for Wairoa last evening with general cargo and two passengers. The New Zealand S‘e.am Navigation Company's serew steamer Lady Bird, Captain Holmes, anchored in the roadstead about 11 o’clock last evening, from Wellington, with about 25 tons of general cargo for this port. By this opportunity we have Wellington papers up to the 11-th inst., extracts from which will be found elsewhere.
The Colonial Government screw steamer St. Hilda. Captain Johnson, arrived AYellington on the 7111 insr., lifter a passage of three days from the -Chatham Islands Everything was quiet at the Islands when the St. Hilda left. The Rifleman and Despatch, schooners, were both lying at Kangaroa windbound,-—-the former with a cargo of cattle on board for Lyttelton.
