THE REGISTRATION OF VOTERS.
TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMES. Sib, —One of the three months annually allowed to qualified persons during which they should be permitted to register their claims to appear on the electoral rolls, is fast slipping away; and yet no notice has been given, that I am aware of, of any registrar tion officer existing who can receive their claims. Surely it is usual to acquaint the the public of the facilities they enjoy for becoming registered voters; and if it is not, it should be. What, may I ask, are the two political parties about that they are not stirring in the matter? Perhaps, however, nothing can be done until a registration officer has given the proper notice. If this be so, I think that many may be disquali fied through the neglect of this step being taken, for some might register during, the first months who, for any reason, might not do so afterwards.—l am, &c., A QUALIFIED VOTER. Napier, 12th Jan., 1867.
