In consequence of the imposition of the Postal rate on Newspapers, the Publisher of the TIMES has resolved upon commencing the new year by the re-issue of the WEEKLY EDITION of the TIMES, which plan, it will be remembered, was adopted during the period in which a postal rate was formerly charged. This will reduce the Postal Tax hy one-half. And, further, he would intimate to his Friends and Subscribers that in all cases where prr-pnyiunt of the Subscription is made, the Postal Tax will be borne by the Proprietor, and not charged. As, however, the purchase of stamps involves a large outlay of ready cash, the above cannot apply to other than prepaid subscriptions.
