The schooner Donald M'Loan, Captain Baker, left Poverty Bay at 10 o'clock on Wednesday morning last, had tine weather down the coast, and arrived hero at 1 p.m. next day She brought down-30 hales wool, 10 horses, and six passengers. The schooner Jane and cutter Sovereign of the Seas were the only vessels at Turanganui when the Donald M’Lean left. The former had cattle in for Auckland, and was waiting for a shifts of wind to sail for that port,’ ■ The Colonial Government gnu-bont Sturt, Captain Fairchild, arrived at I a.m. on Saturday, Ist December, having on board 50 Military Settlers, 14 families, and the following officers s—Lieut. Wilson, and Ensign Take; Captain Biggs was also a passenger by this opportunity. The Sturt left Tauranga on Tuesday last at 8 p.m., for Opotiki, and arrived there at 6 o’clock the following morning, landed cargo aud passengers, and left again at 10 a.m., for Waiapu, where she arrived on Thursday morning at daylight. Embarked 15 Military Settlers, under Lieut. Gascoigne, and steamed for Poverty Bay, arriving there the same night. Lay there all night. Next morning embarked Military Settlers, families, &c„ as stated above, besides a quantity of baggage, and steamed for Napier at noon on Friday, 30th November. Dropped anchor in the roadstead at 1 a.m., on Saturday last, entered the Iron Pot about 6 a.m., and disembarked Military Settlors, who were immediately afterwards marched up town. During Saturday, the Sturt took in a quantity of coal, and wo learn that it is expected she will proceed northwards this day. Verily, this steamer and her courteous commander are kept hard at it. We are glad once more to welcome back to our port the good ship Strathallan, Captain Paddle, which arrived iu the roadstead at a late hour last night, after a fair passage from London of 105 days. We are glad to report all well on board—the passengers being ail in good health. There were two births during tho voyage, but no deaths. We regret being unable to publish the report of her trip this morning—the late hour, of her arrival rendering such impossible. The schooner Queen arrived in Port yesterday afternoon from Mangakuri with a cargo of wool. The Panama Company’s s.s. Lord Ashley arrived in port last night at C o’clock from Southern Ports. We have to thank Mr Puckering [for flies of Southern papers. We may observe, however, that wo only received one Wellington paper, the Advertiser, of the 30th ult. jae ship Cambalu sailed for Valparaiso yesterday morning, in ballast. Tho s.s, Star of the South steamed yesterday afternoon for Auckland with a cargo of cattle and sheep. The s.s. Star of the Evening steamed for Lyttelton with A cargo of cattle on Thursday last.
